Exotic Birds of Red Bank is not your average bird store. From our hobbyist beginnings in Montclair over seventeen years ago to our present-day store in Red Bank, we have continually set the standard for other stores to follow.

Our store operates on the simple philosophy that we are here to help companion parrots be as happy, healthy and self-confident as possible. We are committed to quality, safety, and education, and we encourage all parrot owners to have the same commitment.

We believe in that our relationship with every customer begins, not ends, with a sale. A Brief History
It all started with one man's passion for companion parrots. For as long as anyone who's known him can remember, Mark Delaney, owner of Exotic Birds of Red Bank, has had a deep fascination with animals. He was "the boy down the road" who cared for lost or injured animals and birds. Mark has carried this love and respect for living creatures into his adulthood, so it was no surprise when Mark decided to start a hobby bird business in 1989.

Mark set up a small shop named "Exotic Birds of Pet Agree" in Montclair, NJ. His was the first bird store in New Jersey to sell only domestic-born baby parrots. At that time, the methods used to capture wild parrots resulted in many fatalities. Mark felt that it was wrong to support the wild-caught industry and chose to only sell quality domestic-born babies raised by reliable breeders. This decision was an "unheard-of practice" since the cost of domestic babies was much greater than wild-caught babies.

The store's unusual reputation began to spread and Mark's hobby rapidly grew into a thriving business. When the small store became cramped, it was time to move to a larger space. The loyal customer base followed the store to its new location on Valley Road in Montclair. Folks soon became "regulars" and many lasting friendships were forged over the happy sounds of avian chirps, chatter, squawks and "hellos!"

Late 2004, it became apparent that Exotic Birds of Pet Agree was outgrowing its space again. Mark had been thinking about relocating his business so that he could be closer to his family and decided that this was the perfect time to do it.

So after 15 successful years in Montclair, NJ, Exotic Birds of Pet Agree bid farewell to its Montclair location and headed south...South Jersey, that is. In March 2004, the store opened its doors in Red Bank NJ with a brand new name, Exotic Birds of Red Bank.

Exotic Birds of Red Banks new store is double in size, which means that there are tons of toys, food and other supplies in stock. There are over 50 cages on display as well as plenty of everything else for all sizes and species of parrots.
